This is a simulator for the weight of a knight's armour. The sign says that the weight of an armour was about half the body weight of the knight.
How does the simulation work? Well, bend the knees and go underneath the metal bar, which fits on top of your shoulders. And then stand up. I did. Hard to imagine for me to walk, or even run, around some distance with that weight on my shoulders
